Art Gallery

Art has always been an important tool in the Tamil struggle against oppression. We dedicate this page to the countless Tamil journalists, photographers and artists who risked their lives in Mullivaikkal, many of whom are tragically no longer with us, trying to document and raise awareness about the horrific atrocities that took place. Their work was the channel of communication to those in the Tamil polity outside Mullivaikkal and around the world about the atrocities taking place and forms the basis for much of the artwork on this page.

கலையானது, அடக்குமுறைக்கெதிரான தமிழர் உரிமைப் போராட்டத்தில் எப்போதுமே ஒரு முக்கிய கருவியாக இருந்து வந்துள்ளது. இந்தப் பக்கத்தை, தமிழ் மக்கள் மீது நிகழ்த்தப்பட்ட கொடூரமான அட்டூழியங்களை ஆவணப்படுத்தவும், விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தவும் தமது உயிரைப் பொருட்படுத்தாது களத்தில் பணியாற்றியும் களத்திலேயே உயிரையும் நீத்த தமிழ் ஊடகவியலாளர்கள், நிழல்/ஒளிப்படப்பிடிப்பாளர்கள் மற்றும் கலைஞர்களுக்குச் சமர்ப்பிக்கின்றோம். இவர்களது பணியும் படைப்புக்களுமே உள்ளே நிகழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்த அட்டூழிங்களை  முள்ளிவாய்க்காலுக்கு வெளியே வாழ்ந்த தமிழர்களும் வெளிநாட்டவர்களினதும் அறிவதற்கான தொடர்பு ஊடகமாகவும், இந்தப் பக்கத்திலே தொகுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்ற பெரும்பாலான கலைப் படைப்புகளின் அடித்தளமாகவுமிருக்கின்றன.
